Well, I guess it’s time to rewatch Space Milkshake.
This film features Billy Boyd, Amanda Tapping, Kristin Kreuk, Robin Dunne and the voice of George Takei as Gary.
Four blue collar astronauts who are stuck together on a Sanitation Station after they bring a mysterious device aboard their ship and all life on Earth disappears. Discovering what happened to civilization is only the first of many galactic-level crises the astronauts will have to face as they are about to come under attack by a mutating rubber duck named Gary, who wants to open a portal to his evil dimension and take over the Universe.
It’s a low budget film but one of the great things is that it was filmed in Saskatchewan and myself and a classmate were able to check out the set a few months after they had completed filming. It’s also the same soundstage where Corner Gas filmed a few of their interior scenes. It was a very cool set up!
This is a song by a band in my hometown. They’re called All Mighty Voice.
The lyrics are below. Please take a listen. If you’re having a bad day, and everything is miserable and you feel completely trapped, remember: you’re free to believe.
Well I woke up, I woke up and I thought I’d fucked it up
It was too black, too black to see.
Well I was born in a place where time it was displaced
Movin’ on was just what’s best for me.
‘Cause I’m free, free, free
Yeah, I’m free to believe
Movin’ on was just what had to be
When I go, still I go
Just a little further on down the road
Oh I will go back some day
You will see
Still I know, still I know
You can’t kill time, you just grow old
Growin’ too old to see the dawn
If I was you and you were me
Maybe then you’d finally see
Livin’ on’s just what’s best for me
‘Cause I’m free, free, free
Yeah, I’m free to believe
Movin’ on was just what had to be
When I go, still I go
Just a little further on down the road
Oh I will go back some day
You will see
Oh I’ll be back someday
Oh I’ll be back someday
As it turns out, my city does not have power. At all. We won’t be getting power back for possibly another 48 hours. Two freaking days. The food is goin bad in our refrigerator. My car is almost out of gas and I don’t have cash. There’s only one co-op selling gas (in a city of 40,000). Grocery stores are closed. Banks are closed. Everything is closed. The stores that are open are completely sold out of generators.
It’s gonna be a long two days.
Does anyone know which show this is from?
It’s from a little show called Corner Gas. Produced and filmed in Saskatchewan. Created by comedian Brent Butt, whose hometown is Tisdale, Sask.
Canadian comedy.
You’re welcome.

This is the last “Shit ____ Say” video I’m posting, I swear. But this is from where I live!
I’m pretty sure we are the only people on the face of the planet that calls hoodies “bunnyhugs”. (but doesn’t it sound warmer? <3)
“Pill” is referring to the brand of beer “Pilsner”.
-10 weather feels amazing.
The shovel in the gut while shoveling happens way more often than I’d like.
There are places in Saskatchewan called “Elbow”, “Eyebrow” and “Climax”. xD
And the “rape” in Tisdale is referring to is a seed in the canola family. Plus, I think they added more to the slogan. “The land of rape, honey, and Brent Butt.” The slogan seems to refuse to get any better. LOL
And most Saskatchewanians are very passionate about the provincial football team The Roughriders. I have often yelled at the TV screen cursing the quarterback, Durant. (The 2009 Grey Cup is something that we’d like to forget.)
